album battles 15-20

ok so its the last time im doing battles like this im just gonna show you the results because i dont have the time or ethic to type for 3 hrs straight.
the rules are posted here: Blah

Yuck vs. Dye it Blonde
ok so i heard em both a couple of times and i was amazed at how they sound, very 90ish and very cool indeed. Some said that Yuck sounds like Smashing Pumpkins and i say no to that. Smith Westerns had a beachier feel and a lot funner dance ready album so i felt that the Smith Westerns earned 4 pts and Yuck a mere 1 pt. Notable songs: Shook Down by yuck and Dance Away by Smith Westerns.

Departing vs. Moment Bends
When i heard both albums i wasn't too pleased by either of them. I was listening and the albums aren't very mind blowing quite frankly they sucked compared to their other releases so I just wrote up a score that seemed about right with the quality of both albums
The rural Alberta advantage: 3
Architecture in Helsinki: 2

Metals vs. Ceremonials
ok for these two albums  i was pleased and this was a tough match.
these albums both had great songs and I'm leaning to Feist because i think Feist had a better edge in the sound. Feist: 3 pts Florence + the Machine: 2 pts. Notable Songs:
How come you never go there by Feist and Shake it out by Flo
look up the remix by benny benassi too.

Nine types of light vs.  Circuital
These albums were both due for a review and sadly i didn't have time so they ended up here.
its cool because they are both great albums especially nine types of light because it had the really banging bass and that's exactly why they scored better. TV: 3 MMJ: 2
Notable songs: Will Do by TV on the radio and  Circuital by My morning jacket.

Palace vs. In the grace of your love
Man i chose really hard albums to battle with huh?
well for the sake of time I'm just gonna tell you i liked The Rapture better i don't exactly like the new approach they took but if they keep up this they will sound a lot like another indie band i like im hearing Cold War Kids? Chap: 2 Rap: 3
Notable songs: Five Trees by Chapel Club and How deep is your love by the rapture

If not now when vs. I'm with you
the last battle and these two "old" bands duke it out and to tell you the truth incubus kind of dissapointed me and they have ever since light grenades so its no surprise RHCP won this round.
Incubus: 2 RHCP: 3
Notable songs:
Adolecents by incubus and  The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie

ok this was fun huh? not really the album battles were more to handle than the actual 10-20 song album reviews and the scores are very hard to determine. so next year around this time im only doing 10 album battles not 20. oh and if you want to know who won the overall album battle it was Mines is yours by Cold War Kids.

album battles 11-14

ok so im like tired of doing the long
reviews so i am combining the remainding
albums and totally just blah explosion
review and then im going to start doing album reviews before
the year ends and stuff so yeah lets get it on
im just naming the album then im going to
say who has most points then eventually
we'll see who wins the album of the year
Rules here
Battles 11-14

When it all comes down to the singles and most listened to songs the best songs are from the dodos although okkervil river is ok they just don't move as well
Best song by the dodos: Black night
Best song by Okkervil River: The Valley
ok so the dodos win 3-2 against Okkervil River
Ok so these two albums were good and all but the strongest album was All at once even if Shangri-La had an awesome intro the other songs lacked and didnt make it better
Best song from The AirBorne Toxic Event: Changing
Best song from Shangri-la: Utopia
The Airborne Toxic Event wins 3-2
against Yacht

Arrrrrgggg!! why is this hard? ok they are the two best chillwave albums i have heard in a while and even though they both were amazing i think the combination of synth loops and really woompy beats in galactic melt made the cut
even though the strings in the album You are all i see is amazing
Best song by Active Child: You are All i See
Best song by Com Truise: Cathode Girls
Com Truise wins barely by 3-2 against Active Child

These albums are both really similar but after a few listens to the songs i found kasabian more apealing and kaiser chiefs didn't seem so dashing.
The Best song by Kaiser chiefs: Little Shocks
The Best Song by Kasabian: Let's Roll Just Like We Used To
kasabian wins by 3-2 in a not to impressive victory over Kaiser Chiefs

Noah and The Whale vs Cake

10th Match
Last Night On Earth vs. Showroom of Compassion
Rules and blahs
ok so there will be ten songs and they will be split into 5 for noah and 5 for cake which means that the top song by noah will battle the top song by cake and this continues until all 5 songs are used by each band and the winner of the round gets one point the winner of the most rounds winns those points and moves on to next round
Round 1:
L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.: This song is the only reason i know how to spell that phrase, the guitar is cool and so is the violin. "L I F E G O E S O N" that chorus is just superb.

vs.

Mustache Man: Typical Cake sound and its totally bringing back the 90's sound. This songs horns are just so hip and the bass is very smooth the vocals are great as expected and the guitar solo man.

Round 2:
Life is Life: Im not what i should say since they have a very electonic layer of sound here. The chorus is good though which is hard to actually picture.

vs.

Sick of You: The bass is grand, and the very road ready old highway feel. This songs feel makes you want to get into a car and drive into the desert just for the thrill.

Round 3:
Tonights the Kind of Night: the very country like vocals and low vocals make this a hard to listen song. The backing vocals get into the mix and the song improves by that much.

vs.

Long Time: This is my Favorite song on the album because the feel is just that awesome. They do it your self type of sound and thick yet incredibly thin sound gets you and grasps your feet.

Round 4:
Wild Thing: The desolate feel doesn't really add much more than a sadder mood. the thin sound doesnt help either it adds the sadness and it doesn't get better fast.

vs.

Federal Funding: I'm wondering if this is a response to the crap that happened during the bank bailouts. "You'll recieve the federal the federal funding you can have a hefty grand" these words really grip you and cause you to think.

Round 5:
Waiting for my chance to come: This is an upbeat song its a lot happier than the other hit songs. This song is a combination of awesome western feel and the violins and guitar emphisize this but this bands isn't american.

vs.

Got to Move: Slower Jam but it sounds like theres something he needs to say and were here to listen. The song really moves you and the lyrics give you a message.

Verdict:
Round 1: Noah and the Whale
Round 2: Cake
Round 3: Cake
Round 4: Cake
Round 5: Noah and the Whale

Noah and The Whale: 2
Cake: 3

Why: Must i Explain? ok Cake didn't make a Fashion Nugget or Pressure Chief but they did respond to the Question will they stay in the same sound? Will they have those glorious horns? and they did they had that. But Noah had lacked the happy uber aura of bliss they had in the Peaceful...me Down and especially in the song 5 years time they crushed my expectations and they stomped on em with dirty shoes.

Battles vs. Funeral Party

its album vs album and singles vs singles ok 1st song in each round is by battles and the 2nd is by Funeral Party and
there will be 10 songs in which 2 will battle for the point and the order will be from top hits/ most listened to the least but only 5 songs by each artist not the whole album.
Round 1:
Ice Cream: The song is just so good i mean the orgasmic musical sounds and ripping guitars are something to gaze on about and the sculpture just beh but i get how it represents the sound they were going for. I totes love this song its a very hyperactive song.

vs.

New York City Moves To The Sound Of LA: Ok thats a long song name its almost as long as the intro with incredible bass, awesome crazy vocals and really up beat drums.  Total jumping song the very cut-dry guitar and loud thickness of the song really gets me.

Round 2:
My Machines: Right as the song starts you hear the drummer just pattering away the drummer is very hardcore. The vocals aren't as hard and the synth hardly is but the loudness gets you dancing.

vs.

Just Because: Loud fast paced and punk style vocals very abrupt but still smooth and calm at times.
The drumming is beast just pounding and pounding.

Round 3:
Africastle: This track is very stale and thin and hardly fun it takes long to get into an excited mood and even then its not much of a start. When it does start the loud Pounding and abstract guitar sounds and take you to an all new landscape.

vs.

Finale: Fast piano playing leads up to some killer guitar riffs then that leads to some very excited vocals. The vocals fsream and scream and tear up the room.

Round 4:
Inchworm: If you ever wonder how an inch worms movements would sound like im pretty sure these guys get the prize. The track is very smooth and chill and i see where they would get the idea that this song is like an inchworm and those things dont move very far but like this song they make progress.

vs.

Giant: Man when i first heard this song on need for speed: hot pursuit i was like who are these people i need to listen to them more and then i found out they were Funeral party the chill punk alternative rock band. This song introduced me to them and they are so awesome with this song.

Round 5:
Wall Street: Holy Carp this song is amazing, the guitar and the synth/piano/tweaking/whistling they are so raw. How does this sound get created like that? seriously.

vs.

Golden Age Of Knowhere: the song is very thin, forest sounds then guitar comes in. The very energetic drums come in and then the killer vocals destroy the place and set it on fire.

Verdict:
Round 1: Battles
Round 2: Funeral Party
Round 3: Funeral Party
Round 4: Funeral Party
Round 5: Battles

Battles: 2
Funeral Party: 3

why: I like Both Albums and they are great and sure battles has more experience and they are more radical but are they really? not on this album they were dressed to impress but not to sell the album they wanted to show the crazy side of the project and even though they are great and experimental they aren't going to get me listening to the album more than a few times but Funeral Party they were going for greater expectations.

Blackfield vs Manchester Orchestra

(blah Blah Blah you know the drill)
ALRIGHT GO!

Round 1:
2. Go to Hell: This song is very angry, it has tons of emotion even though the vocals aren't showing in the beginning. The chorus is awesome and the middle is very good with the thickness at peak.

vs.

1. Deer: The tone is very sad, there's lots of vocals all around. The same theme is in this song as "Go To Hell".

Round 2:
7. Blood: Very cool metal/Israeli song with the hard guitar and soft flute. The song just gets better from there and its an instrumental which is a bonus.

vs.

7. Simple Math: Smooth yet the vocals are very sad, there is a lot of emotion in the song. The guitar and violins blend in great.

Round 3:
9. Oxygen: Sounds filtered, the vocals are, the guitar is streaky. The vocals are very brilliant and same is said about the lyrics.

vs.

6. Virgin: The song is very thin, the vocals are sad. The guitar is harder and the vocals get thicker with more vocals added, not to mention the awesome choir of guitars.

Round 4:
6. Dissolve With The Night: The piano, sad sad piano, the sadder lyrics. The orchestral sound is so amazing.

vs.

2. Mighty: Loud and hard that's how i like my music well not always but this is the perfect example of that rawness. Loud vocals too, and very emotional and not sad either.

Round 5:
4. Waving: Acoustic guitar, soft and tame but amazing. The vocals are very good in this song and the vocals are really great seriously.

vs

3. Pensacola: A lot more alternative than i can describe and the vocals are quicker. the guitar is just about the same just a little tamer than the vocals.

Round winner:
Round 1: Blackfield
Round 2: Blackfield
Round 3: Manchester Orchestra
Round 4: Manchester Orchestra
Round 5: Blackfield

Blackfield: 3 pts.
Manchester Orchestra: 2 pts.
Overall winner: Blackfield

Why: Its a very hard battle of albums and they are both awesome im gonna tell you the truth Manchester Orchestra are better than i expected but still Blackfield they have a very great collaboration going on and the sound is just amazing. The bad thing is that the album is so underrated and it isn't getting many plays (i could be wrong) but its still underrated.

Rubblebucket vs The Sounds

(If you saw me rambling about who goes first and what not already on my other posts you should know by now the drill)
OK start!

Round 1:
4. Came Out of a Lady: Man, this song...OK this isn't my favorite song. This song has a very awkward feel.

vs.

4. Better off Dead: They sound very electronic, and they have repetitive loops. They get really danceable after awhile but they are still very repetitive.

Round 2:

3. Silly Fathers: The guitar is great in the intro but the vocals aren't very excited. Like i said the guitar is superb and the bass is very catchy, the snapping is also in perfect timing.

vs.

11. Something To Die For: This song takes a while to reach the good part. The guitar is great though, i do admit, and the chorus is really good.

Round 3:

9. Triangular Daisies: Abrupt beginning, the vocals don't fall on the beat. The music is OK and the piano is just hammering away and the beach guitar is really catchy

vs.

1. Its So Easy: Short song, electronic and repetitive until the drum comes in. It gets really up beat with every layer of sound added.

Round 4:

1. Down In The Yards: Weird beginning, starts of broken and torn. Then after awhile everything starts to arrange but it still sounds very out of beat.

vs.

2. Dance With The Devil: Baang, gun shots, stomping beat. the powerful intro goes right into a slower chorus.

Round 5:

2. L'Homme: Ok we really care you know french that oh so impressive. If only the music were that thought out.

 vs.
3. The No No Song: loud, reminds me of the smith westerns with the guitar. This song beats all the other songs on this album.

Round winner:
Round 1: The Sounds
Round 2: Rubblebucket
Round 3: The Sounds
Round 4: Rubblebucket
Round 5: The Sounds

Rubblebucket: 2 pts.
The Sounds: 3 pts.
Overall Winner: The Sounds

Why: The guitar is groovier, the vocals are better,  the singing has more emotion, and they are in beat. Rubblebucket sounds too hectic.

Iron and Wine vs. The Decemberists

Iron and Wine is up first then The Decemberists and this repeats until the top five songs by both of them have battled... It's Iron then December, Iron then December, Iron then December... Five times, total of 10 songs and 5 pts. Let's begin this.

Round 1:
3. Tree By The River: "The sound of awkwardness... creepy old story of love...his beard made me listen to it" those are all reactions to this song by fans. This song isn't that bad i did see it live (in February?) it was really good but it was acoustic and this song isn't only acoustic it has many instruments.

vs.

6. Down By The Water: "Tap Tap Tap" and corny horn, this band knows how to make an entrance. "The sailor men of Portland" that's what a lot of people called them and i can hear why.

Round 2:
1. Walking Far From Home: This is "Folk" but this doesn't sound like any folk Ive heard before. I don't know what to say this song has too many effects to be called folk.

vs.

2. Calamity Song: The guitar is actually good, the song is catchy but then again this is folk. Indie folk for that matter and i am not a big fan of that rural feel.

Round 3:
5. Half Moon: Smooth and nice, but its still corny and awkward feeling. The back up vocals doesn't help at all.

vs.

4. Rox in The Box: This song is a lot better it has a better sound and its not straight up corny. The vocals are though they aren't the most genius but the instrumentation is great.

Round 4:
2. Me and Lazarus: Oh My God the awkwardness is just sustained with the effects on the bass or whatever that weird bleeping sound is. The instrumentation is wack, but like many of his fans say "he looks like a viking but sings like an angel".

vs.

7. All Arise!: God this farm feel is killing my mood I'm trying really hard to only compliment but this is just terrible. I'm kind of glad i didn't go to that concert this spring its just not my genre of music.

Round 5:
9. Glad Man Singing: I wonder what he was thinking when he made this song name... I bet he was really happy. The thinness of the song makes it a better and less awkward jam and yes i do like his vocals but the instrumentation always kills the mood.

vs.

5. January Hymn: the plucking of the guitar is good and smooth and his vocals are great. Like i said with Iron and Wine the thinness is their strength.

20 Song addition
vs.
24 Song addition

Round winner:
Round 1:Iron and Wine
Round 2:The Decemberists
Round 3: Iron and Wine
Round 4: Iron and Wine
Round 5: The Decemberists

Iron and Wine: 3 pts.
The Decemberists: 2 pts.
overall winner: Iron and Wine

Why: i don't really like either artist but when it come to folk The decemberists kill. i mean really they decimate But Iron and Wine has a better overall sound and plus he has an epic beard anyone with that much grass on thy chin must win... OK putting all jokes aside they are both hard albums to get into and unless you really like folk or Rural sound then i don't recommend buying this.

Fleet Foxes vs Bon Iver

Helplessness Blues vs. Bon Iver
Fleet is up first then Bon and this repeats until the top five songs by both of them have all battled its Fleet then Bon, Fleet then Bon, Fleet then Bon... Five times total of 10 songs and 5 pts. Let's Battle.

Round 1:
1. Montezuma: Really flowing and the guitar is just very good its amazing, the vocals blow your mind. "oh man oh my oh me" the catchiest verse ever... tremendous song and great album opener.

vs.

3. Holocene: Rich guitar and very flowing, the soft vocals and equally soft atmosphere. The atmosphere stays thin but there are occasional leaves and birds flowing in the air.

Round 2:
6. Helplessness Blues: Fast guitar, echoing vocals, multiple guitars. It gets loud and thick and when it does its the best sound you can hear, its very soothing and calming.

vs.

8. Calgary: Sounds like wind, echoes in the soft breeze. The air isn't still anymore a gust of wing blows and it smooths out.

Round 3:
2. Bedouin Dress: Classic finger picking guitar, clapping in the back. This song is a lot happier and it has a violin too.

vs.

1. Perth: Soft electric guitar, the sound of marching drums and voices. It sounds very sad, like a march of death and the thickness in the middle reflects the grief and sorrow of the song.

Round 4:
4. Battery Kinzie: This song is a lot happier as i said before and its really up beat. The vocals are less slow and they are much more excited and buoyant.
vs.

4. Towers: Same feel as the other songs but its movement is a little faster, and it grows louder. Like all of the songs they reach a point where it is at an ultimate thickness in the music and it essentially breaks apart after this point.

Round 5:
3. Sim Sala Bim: Fast classical sounding guitar, extremely finger picked. This song gets very loud and it has a lot going on there is the guitar and the harp, the percussion, the strings and bells.

vs.

2. Minnesota, WI: A lot more modest mouse sounding and better taken. The groove is a whole lot more jazz oriented, the vocals aren't the usual and the song is always thick with instruments different ones, they all blend and mix in very well.

16 song addition
vs.
18 song addition

Round winner:
Round 1: Fleet Foxes
Round 2: Fleet Foxes
Round 3: Bon Iver
Round 4: Fleet Foxes
Round 5: Bon Iver

Fleet Foxes: 3 pts.
Bon Iver: 2 pts.
overall winner: Fleet Foxes

Why? Because the songs were stronger and even though both of the albums are thick and have lots of instruments i felt that Fleet Foxes were better in the atmospheric feeling and i preferred the thick multiple vocals over just one man singing... i felt that Bon Iver did a Great job on the instruments and if this was based purely on instrumentation Bon Iver would win in a landslide but all in all Fleet Foxes delivered and exceeded expectations that i thought i wouldn't be able to dig because its folk but they won me over.

Holy Ghost vs Cut Copy

Holy is up first then Cut and this repeats until the top five songs by both of them have all battled its Holy then Cut, Holy then Cut, Holy then Cut... Five times total of 10 songs and 5 pts. Let's start.

Round 1:
6. Hold On: Drum beat, clap, synth, more synth. Piano on flange, catchy vocals, its a really simple but good song.

vs.

2. Take Me Over: Flange enters, guitar and percussion enter. Vocals of awesome enter, Lovely smooth and groovy song.

Round 2:
4. Say My Name: Bleeps and bloops, bass line starts, Drum gets involved, tinkling too. Vocals are short and cut to the chase really great dance song.

vs.

1. Need You Now: Wow both are 6 min songs that's a first, this has bleeps and bloops too, it takes a long time to ascend only to go to a comfortable plateau.

Round 3:
1. Do It Again: Banging beats, smooth tri-cend, really catchy beat. Nice Vocals really smooth and great.

vs.

3. Where I'm Going: There's twinkling, Beatles style vocals. The drums are great and very loud.

Round 4:
3. Hold My Breath: Static radio intro gives way to the funky and creamy beat thick and all. The syrup vocals and runny butter runs through this song quite well.

vs.

4. Pharaohs and Pyramids: Twinkle and intercom, beat starts and the song keeps progressing. The vocals much better than the song before, sound demanding saying "dance now".

Round 5:
9. Static On The Wire: Percussion good and all but it takes a while to get to a certain point. Its a very slow song it starts off slow just to stay slow.

vs.

5. Blink and You'll Miss A Revolution: Looping, a beat starts to go off and its a great beat too. The vocals aren't half bad either.

Evaluation:

23 song addition
vs.
15 song addition

Round winner:
Round 1: Cut Copy
Round 2: Holy Ghost
Round 3: Holy Ghost
Round 4: Cut Copy
Round 5: Cut Copy

Holy Ghost: 2 pts.
Cut Copy: 3 pts.

Ok both of these albums are Great but then again they both lacked too. I decided Cut Copy was better, Holy Ghost was good and in a way better because they have room for improvement. Cut Copy was better because they had better expectations and they met em, but Holy Ghost doesnt have any and they are new to the game, hopefully with the next album they will be better but if you have a choice between Holy Ghost or Zonoscope, my choice is Zono.

White Lies vs Cold War Kids

Ritual vs. Mines is yours
White Lies is up first then Cold War Kidsand this repeats until the top five songs by both of them have all battled its cold then white, cold then white, cold then white... Five times total of 10 songs and 5 pts. Let's GO.

Round 1:
3. Bigger than Us: Pulsing, Deep Voice, Catchy lyrics, Similarity to The Editors.
Sounds More Alternative than Indie Rock.

vs.

2. Louder than Ever: The Voice is amazing, emotional, and speak about guitar. They always deliver great songs.

Round 2:
2. Strangers: Plucking, Bass, Horns, Lovely Deep vocals. The guitars are sharply strumming.

vs.

1. Mines is Yours: It starts off slow but it keeps growing, then the catchy whoahs start. The song starts to get thicker and more instruments are added.

Round 3:
1. Is love: Pounding drums start and continue on. The strange scattering sound goes on the background as he sings.

vs.

3. Royal Blue: The guitar is too amazing, the piano is great and his vocals are equally great.

Round 4:
6. Holy Ghost: Drive and sharp picking. Great deep voice and nice lyrics.

vs.

4. Finally Begin: Soft guitar, quick smooth vocals. Great percussion and very well placed hooks.

Round 5:
4. Peace and Quiet: Softer than the other songs, thinner sound, less elements. This goes away once the vocals start and it still is thin but the elements get together and form a sort of burial.

vs.

6. Skip the Charades: Chill, packed in with nice percussion, nice vocals. Thinner sound, and the music is repetitive.

Evaluation:

16 song addition
vs.
16 song addition

Round winner:
Round 1: Cold War Kids
Round 2: Cold War Kids
Round 3: Cold War Kids
Round 4: Cold War Kids
Round 5: White Lies

Cold War Kids: 4 pts.
White Lies: 1 pt.

To tell you the truth i was leaning to Cold War Kids from the start, White Lies they're great but the sophomore album lacked and ask any White Lies fan the debut was a lot better. Mine is Yours was a good album despite it being shadowed by Robbers & Cowards and Loyalty is Loyalty. They both are great albums and i mean this in all respect to White Lies I'd rather buy Mines is Yours.

SebastiAn vs Nero

SebastiAn is up first then Nero and this repeats until the top five songs by both of them have battled... It's Sebastian then Nero, Sebastian then Nero, Sebastian then Nero... Five times, total of 10 songs and 5 pts. Let's begin eh?

Round 1:
5. Ross Ross Ross: Buzzing in the beginning followed by loops and crazy blips, it slows down but then a new beat begins of epic proportions. I can just imagine a scene full of clubbers just dancing away at this.

vs.

7. Innocence: Starts off slow but grows increasingly loud and thick, it starts off like any other electronic song but then the dubstep starts which is OK but its really repetitive. The song is repetitive overall too which is strangely familiar to pop elements and in my opinion a bad thing.

Round 2:
4. Embody: Dance, this song gets me dancing, its just an amazingly groovy song, it makes you wanna say "lets go clubbing to this song" huh? The bass similar to that of Justice just amazing really, way better bass than that wub wub bass.

vs.

4. Guilt: This song is very hard to dance to, the lyrics are great but the beat is hard to dance to in the start until the dub steps in. The keyboard is amazing and it has the remix feel to it.

Round 3:
1. Hudson River: Its already banging, the progressions are really good, the looping just fits in right. The bad thing is its really short, that is what makes the song not that great its not long.

vs.

13. Promises: This song is fast paced, It is totally ready for action, you can drive to this, drive quickly. I agree with the fans this album needs a full length movie.

Round 4:
7. Kindercut: Its the loops yo, the bass, the percussion. This song is banging, oh and its longer too, and the guitar it makes your knees bend, the buzzing starts and interupts a little but it releases and were banging again.

vs.

3. My Eyes: Creepy, lonely, thin and full of air, slowly floats to a thumping stage. It totally isn't like "HEll yeah im dubstep" its a lot tamer and less in your face dub.

Round 5:
6. Fried: FKN lazers, this action movie loops and banging, worthiness isnt a title it is already won with this DJ. The crazy and interlocking loops are tightly pckd into this song and fully inputted with a BANG.

vs.

6. Me and You: The looping and cool bass of epic proportions winn this song over. I wonder who the singer is cus she's good.

Evaluation:

23 song addition
vs.
33 song addition

Round winner:
Round 1: Nero
Round 2: SebastiAn
Round 3: Nero
Round 4: SebastiAn
Round 5: SebastiAn (really hard to choose but im sorry Nero)

SebastiAn: 3 pts.
Nero: 2 pts.
Overall Winner: SebastiAn

Dude i know you expected Nero to win and i love Nero but angst wasn't in the top 5 songs that song would have changed the weight of the battle, but SebastiAn they were more dance ready and they had the jams banging the setback is the songs are too short comparing to the wooping 5 mins Nero gives out and youknow what both albums are worth buying. SebastiAn may have won but that only means they continue to the next round. Nero and SebastiAn are both great.

Los Campesinos Vs The Wombats

Los Campesinos is up first then The Wombats and this repeats until the top five songs by both of them have all battled its camp then womb, camp then womb, camp then womb... Five times total of 10 songs and 5 pts. Let's begin.

Round 1
1. By your hand: Bliss thick sound, great thick vocals. Catchy story-line, powerful, awesome tone and sound overall.

Vs.

2. Tokyo (vampires and wolves): Sounds oriental but techy, the drums are nice, sounds very catchy. Lyrics aren't so great, you can dance to this, slows down and pick up pace.

Round 2
2. Songs about your girlfriend: Static start followed by awesome guitar in the intro, vocals are less shaky and twinkly. Really good volume and thickness, lyrics about stealing girlfriends, really good ending.

Vs.

6. Techno fan: Crowd backdrop intro gives way to techy thumps, really catchy lyrics. Simple beats with loop vocals, music gets really thick after chorus, very happy.

Round 3
3. Hello sadness: Loud vocals, great bassline, good progression. Percussion is very good, the thickness always gets me, nice touch of violins, great lyrics.

Vs.

3. Jump into the fog: The sound is wavy, really catchy vocals, the lyrics are questionable though. Keyboard is really nice, and synth too but the song is to fast.

Round 4
4. Life is a long time: Old coast style rock guitar, very chill and 90's like, clapping adds a western feel. The vocals are very poetic and full of emotion.

Vs.

1. Our perfect disease: beeping, plus bloc party like vocals, quick pulsating feeling. Calm like vocals plus banging drums really give a cool party feel, very good jump in between chorus and bridge.

Round 5
5. Every defeat is a divorce (three lions): Five minute song, loud overall, long progressions. Sad lyrics and vocals, slow tempo, the ending takes a while to unravel.

Vs.

7. 1996: The synth is out there, the vocals are emotional, the lyrics are acceptable. The drums are awesome, the sound is loud and wavy.

Round winner:
Round 1: los campesinos
Round 2: los campesinos
Round 3. los campesinos
Round 4. The wombats
Round 5. The wombats

Los Campesinos: 3 pts.
The Wombats: 2 pts.
Overall winner: los campesinos

But both albums are really good it was hard choosing los campesinos over the wombats and if we all had unlimited amounts of money to buy CDs with we'd all buy both but that's not the case... I'd at least listen to both albums and I'm pretty sure you'd find both are hard to judge but overall campesinos had better lyrics than the wombats and the wombats had catchier and way more dancable jams.

Like I said before this is not an overall rating of the albums since I hate saying "this album gets 4 stars out of 11" or something like that all albums are great in their own way but in the end of the day I'd rather buy the new los campesinos vs. the new wombats even if the wombats get more radio play.
