Quick notes on Four by Bloc Party

Bloc Party Four
OH MY GOSH BLOC PARtY!!! oh my god. eh. when i heard about the release of this album i was not really excited. i really didn't care. I heard Kele's The Boxer and i thought it was weak. i only liked two tracks and none of it felt like it was new to the spectrum of music it sounded like a been there done that.

listening to it for a while i don't see much of a difference from the older albums it has the same sound. It took 5 years to make a similar sounding album? sounds really repetitive don't you think? I should say this though the songs on this album are all consistently better. The whole album sounds good and it's lacking many singles. They make this up with consistency though which in my opinion is better than making a bunch of singles like the wombats who in my opinion were a complete failure in the latest release. This album does have a good single... "Octopus" its got some good guitar work in there. Well the whole album has some pretty good dynamics over all. The balance between low and high and thick and thin is pretty good and noticeable. When you add all these components together you get a pretty good number.

THE VERDICT: *DUM DUM DUM!!!* Well lets just analyse what we have here? Do we like what we hear? Yes. Is this original? sort of. Does this feel like a "classic"? NOOOOOO! Is there a change in the bands sound? Um you can hardly notice anything. Well what does this album rate in numbers?

Rating:: ♪♪/♪♪♪♪ Two Out Of Four Eighth Notes.
