Notes on Reign Of Terror by Sleigh Bells

Reign Of Terror By Sleigh Bells
Dude when i first heard the album was coming out late last year i was really excited and i anticipated its arrival when i finally heard it i was actually surprised because i dint really think i would like it much because i didn't like the debut but i think there's something in this album that i can like and i think that there is something in this album that wasn't in the debut. i don't know what this Brooklyn band has but maybe the track review will dissect and find the true cause for success.

Track Review(Tracks from Itunes and font from here):

1. True Shred Guitar: The start of the track is from a live show and it takes a while to hear the real start of the song which seems to flow right into the real start. What i don't get though is why there's a bleep but she says f*ck like two times without the bleep i find that just plain annoying. The track is really heavy and i frankly like that really heavy feel its kind of balanced out with her aggressive vocals its like with an i don't give a shit attitude.

2. Born to Lose: The Drums are really pounding and the guitar is really hard and it sounds angry and bitter...perfect setting for the lyrics in a "the whole world against me" type of setting. I find it Brilliant and creative and it has a meaning in it something i strive to find in all modern day music and only a handful has stuff not only about love, sex, money, or stuff in that alley.

3. Crush: Bah this song is such a deadbeat its like after Born to Lose you'll be ready for another round of  bone gritting guitar frets but nope this song happened. SKIP!

4. End of the Line: I guess its just a little slower and its a good track overall its better than Crush for sure and the atmosphere its calmer but its just hard enough to take seriously.

5. Leader of the Pack: Gunshot rings and the song starts with an oxymoron... twinkling. The guitar starts to rip crap up and i guess she doesn't mind. The track sounds like its about to implode and its a sweet but nice track the oxymoron's give it a bit of an unexpected catchiness.

6. Comeback Kid: WOOO! Yeah this may be the single but this song is so full of energy and its radiating with energy and its so nice to hear a female vocal on something hard like that without hearing screaming shes just singing none of that ear retching sequels you normally hear from hard songs like this plus the solo is great and its not a bland song.

7. Demons: The guitar sure does sound like a bunch of screaming demons, That reminds me isn't that how Noodle came to enter the band Gorillaz? She got out of a crate and immediately started playing a guitar as if there were a million demons coming out of it. Well anyway I'm pretty sure Noodle would be proud of em for naming this song just for her guitar playing.

8. Road to Hell: If you ever wanna get on your motorcycle and are tired of listening to that dumb song Highway to hell by AC/DC and still wanna feel like a tough ass there's no harm in playing this and if other bikers look at you weird you say "ha ha at least i can listen to music that isn't just a big sweaty man screaming for other big sweaty men" and then drive away before the dude gets off and knocks you out. Just saying.

9. You Lost Me: The looping is really cool. I like the looping and the guitar is good too its just tiring to see this cycle of really hard then soft then hard then soft songs. The vocals don't put you in a fist pumping mood they make you sleepy.

10. Never Say Die: Hmmm I'm not sure what to think of the intro its a little more to the tech side of the music spectrum and its pretty calm vocal wise. The twinkling gets scary because it adds to a scary intimidating feel and the vocals don't agree. I don't really like the song right now but its a good track regardless.

11. D.O.A.: This is the last hard song on the album. It still seems to be stadium ready its really grand and it feels like it should be played live. yeah that's basically all i got to say about the album.

Verdict: The album is way better than the debut. I really feel that way its BIG, HUGE, and the atmosphere was really GRAND! the guitars are somewhat the same as the debut and the album overall feels like it should be played live. This band is really splendid live though and its great to listen to when your angry because while the rage is flowing in you in the first song by the last song your calm and ready to take on the world again but that's my take on the album. btw happy march 5th if its march fith and sorry for the delay i got caught up in this black march crap but i will continue to review but seriously protect our internet because how are we the people supposed to buy this music with out listening to it? protect the net #FuckACTA #StopSOPA #StopPIPA.
