I wasn't to thrilled to review this album since it isn't indie and it hardly screams unique and new. I also don't like the rap style lyrics, but this album is a new classic for 311 and it'll be in the top albums along with 311 (the blue album) and from chaos.
1. Time bomb: well its got the trademark 311 sound, and the best sounds in awhile maybe since 311.
2. Wild nights: heavy but its got the DJ sounds and crap. Its got the usual mellow vocals.
3. Sunset in July: starts off slow but its got rhythm when the drums kick off.
4. Trouble: nice bassy sound, usual flaring guitar then a nice ska sounding 2nd guitar.
5. Count me in: I'm not impressed. They said "killer no filler" on Facebook but this song is a filler.
6. Rock on: typical song name. The rappy lyrics suggests the opposite.
7. Weightless: I actually like this song. Nice intro, cool guitars, great bass, and good drums.
8. And a ways to go: slow, not that good. The only slow song that has hit success is amber and this song is no amber.
I don't like it. I recommend to people who listen to sublime, sublime with Rome, incubus, and flobots. With that I give you a new release reviewed! I love the album art though.

Look I know it doesn't make sense to someone who posts about news but I review music and ask for help from fans I'm not a 311,fan so I asked one of my friends to help (that's where the first parts from) and I stated that yeah sure its a classic but I don't like it. Is it a crime to state my opinion or are you offended because your a diehard 311 fan? I'm not saying that this band sucks but I am stating that I dont like the album
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think it's a crime or anything, I just found it confusing since the article is written from a singular perspective. If the first part was in quotes with an attribution beneath it and the second was written as is, that would have been easier to understand.
